About the role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior QA Engineer to join our team. This role demands a deep understanding of both manual and automation testing processes, with a primary focus on manual testing (65%) and a significant portion dedicated to automation testing (35%). The ideal candidate will have experience with the software testing lifecycle, test case design, defect tracking, HTTP and API testing, and proficiency in Selenium with Java and TestNG.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Manual Testing: Execute detailed test plans and test cases to ensure the software functions as expected. Identify, document, and track defects.
- Automation Testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver, Java, and TestNG. Implement automation strategies to maximize efficiency.
- Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.
- Defect Tracking: Utilize defect tracking tools to monitor, track, and manage issues identified during testing. Prioritize and resolve issues in collaboration with the development team.
- HTTP and API Testing: Perform testing of HTTP protocols and APIs using tools such as Rest Assured.
- Reporting and Documentation: Provide detailed and accurate reports on test execution, defects, and other aspects of the QA process. Maintain and update documentation.
We’re looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications:
- At least 4+ years of relevant experience in manual and automation testing
- Strong understanding of the software testing lifecycle (STLC)
- Proficiency in designing and executing detailed test cases
- Experience with defect tracking tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of HTTP and API testing concepts and tools
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java
- Familiarity with the TestNG framework and its configurations
- Experience in API testing using Rest Assured
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software
- Experience with mobile testing and performance testing will be a significant advantage
