MrBeast. He’s YouTube’s unrivaled king, with over 340 million subscribers on his personal channel. But that’s just a fraction of his story. Because in total, he actually has over 476 million, if all of his channels are accounted for.
Why doesn’t he have just one channel, and why would some fans subscribe to some and not others?
Is he greedy - or a genius?
A list of MrBeast’s channels - and their subscribers
If consistency is king, the great MrBeast isn’t just ruling one throne. His main channels are:
- MrBeast - 341 million
- Beast Philanthropy - 27.1 million
- MrBeast Gaming - 46.2 million
- Beast Reacts - 35.1 million
- MrBeast 2 (formerly MrBeast Shorts) - 48.1 million
This list isn’t extensive, as there are rumors he has secret channels or inactive channels. He also made a great step in accessibility starting in 2021 when he began releasing YouTube channels dubbed into other languages.
These channels are identical to the original, except all text and sounds are changed, translated by companies run by MrBeast and his production (you have to give the man his props, he knows how to run businesses!).
Why, exactly?
Each of his channels exists for a unique reason - be it content related or more pragmatic reasons.
Let’s look at Beast Philanthropy, for example. The reason for this separate channel has actually helped him swerve scandal and criticism in the past.
His wild, wide-ranging giveback videos combine entertainment with charity, whether he’s giving away $1 million worth of toys or rebuilding an entire village.
Because we live in a plugged-in world with audiences who know to question things deeper now, this entirely separate channel exists so MrBeast can make it clear that he isn’t personally profiting from giving back.
As stated on the official channel’s bio, “100% of the profits from my ad revenue, merch sales, and sponsorships will go towards making the world a better place!”
If you can, why not?
Another reason MrBeast has so many channels might seem like an obvious one, but it is worth explaining - it’s simply because he can.
With a full production company on his roster, he can maintain and grow so many separate channels without the quality suffering.
If gamers just want to get gaming content, he has the resources to ensure that that’s exactly what they get on MrBeast Gaming - and they don’t suddenly find themselves watching weeks worth of philanthropic videos.
And this is how he stayed one step ahead of his peers.
One size doesn’t fit all and, even if you’re a fan of one thing, you might not want to engage with something else. It’s the same with any creator if you really think about it.
If Taylor Swift suddenly decided to be a rapper, would she risk losing all of her original fans? Possibly. But if she branched out with a separate rap profile, she could still be Taylor Swift the pop star AND Taylor Swift the rapper.
Diversifying your channels
If MrBeast were a one-man band, he might not have diversified so much—after all, there’s always a risk of alienating certain demographics of your fanbase. The lesson for other content creators is simple: don’t run before you can crawl, but always have a scaling plan. Dream big, but make sure you’re ready to grow beyond just one channel.
Diversifying channels lets you give your audience exactly what they want, which creates stronger connections and deeper loyalty. Just be sure you can maintain all your channels—spreading yourself too thin can leave some neglected, which can hurt more than it helps.
