About the role:
The QA Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of quality assurance professionals in designing, implementing, and executing testing strategies and processes to ensure the quality of software releases. This role involves collaboration with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure that quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing methodologies, leadership experience, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in quality assurance practices.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers. Set clear team goals and KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Test Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure that all objectives are met and that the software solution works as expected. This includes understanding product requirements, developing test cases, and managing test cycles.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc. Oversee all aspects of quality including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance testing and QA processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices in testing methodologies to ensure high-quality software release cycles.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, product management, and customer service teams to identify and resolve quality issues. Ensure effective communication of testing status, issues, and project risks.
- Test Automation: Promote and implement test automation strategies to maximize efficiency and reliability of testing while minimizing manual effort. Oversee the development and maintenance of automation frameworks.
- Issue Management: Monitor, track, and manage issues identified during testing. Work with the development team to prioritize and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Reporting and Documentation: Provide detailed and accurate reports on test execution, defects, and other aspects of the QA process. Ensure documentation is maintained and updated.
We’re looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and cases.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus.
- Experience with performance and/or security testing will be advantageous.
- Desired Experience with Java 11+, Selenium, Rest assured, Github actions, Docker, TestNg, Maven/Gradle, Allure reporting, Selenium grid, Testrail, MongoDB.
