About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Data Scientist to join our Growth team, which plays a pivotal role in accelerating growth across all stages of the user journey, from Activation to Revenue, Retention, and Referral. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with the VP of Growth and a dedicated cross-functional team to unlock actionable insights from our data, enabling strategic decision-making and driving impactful initiatives. Your contributions will empower our growth team to make data-driven decisions, optimize user experiences, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, further propelling our company towards sustained growth and success.

Typical responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to define experiment hypotheses, establish success metrics, and implement tracking mechanisms to measure performance.
  • Utilize statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets, extract actionable insights, and generate data-driven recommendations to drive business growth and improve user experiences.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows to ingest, process, and analyze data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast user behavior, identify churn risk, and personalize product experiences to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Work closely with our external agency to optimize data infrastructure, improve data quality, and streamline data workflows.
  • Create interactive dashboards using data visualization tools to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders and facilitate data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, methodologies, and technologies in data science, machine learning, and analytics, and apply them to enhance our data capabilities and drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and agencies as needed to leverage third-party data sources, tools, and expertise to augment our data science capabilities and accelerate growth initiatives.
We’re looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, preferably in a SaaS environment.
  • Experience with SQL and proficiency in querying and manipulating large datasets.
  • Strong proficiency in Python/R and experience with relevant libraries
  • Solid grasp of A/B testing methodologies and statistical knowledge required to design, analyze, and interpret test results effectively. This includes proficiency in hypothesis testing, sample size calculation, and understanding statistical significance.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI), building and maintaining internal dashboards.
  • Experience working closely with Product Managers and cross-functional growth teams to set up tracking for experiments, build dashboards to monitor test performance, and report on findings. The ability to derive actionable insights and propose new hypotheses based on test results is essential.
  • Proficiency in tools commonly used within our company, including DataBricks for data ingestion, Google Warehouse for data storage, and BigQuery for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Amplitude for product analytics, Braze for CRM, Google Analytics for web analytics, and ChartMogul for subscription analytics as well as other relevant tools and platforms will be considered a bonus.
